Tree Planting

As the climate changes and urban areas become increasingly heat-stressed, the need for greenspace and tree canopy is greater than ever.  KCB is up to the challenge and has expanded our tree planting initiatives throughout Cincinnati.  Keep scrolling to learn about these initiatives, access tree planting resources, and learn how you can get involved!

Across Cincinnati

Since 2018, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful has planted over 200 trees across Cincinnati and we plan to plant even more by 2025! Want to get involved? Keep scrolling to find opportunities that best fit your needs.

For the community

Help us plant more trees to beautify our community public spaces while providing ecosystem services for the environment including enhanced shade, stormwater control, air filtration, and carbon sequestration for areas that need it the most. The added tree canopy incorporated into the public space will add social, environmental, and economic value to the neighborhood, which in turn improves the safety, property values, and overall quality of life in neighborhoods with low tree canopy and access to greenspace.

Our goal along with the City of Cincinnati’s Green Cincinnati Plan is to increase tree cover in Cincinnati by planting trees in strategic locations. You can help us reach this collective goal through planning a corporate volunteer event or donating to our organization.

With students

Our Tree the CRC initiative supports the 2023 Green Cincinnati Plan to increase equity of the urban tree canopy. Tree planting will focus on Cincinnati Recreation Centers and playgrounds in areas of the city that are currently under the 40% the Green Cincinnati Plan seeks to maintain. If you or your students are interested in helping increase tree canopy across Cincinnati, complete the form below to get in touch with our Applied Learning Coordinator, Caroline Cain.

Students will gain:

  • hands-on understanding of the heat island effect

  • green workforce skills and knowledge

  • a first-hand look into community collaboration

  • service hours for graduation seals
