Beautifying as many boarded buildings in Cincinnati as possible!
Boarded up, vacant buildings can become an eyesore to surrounding businesses and residents. The Future Blooms program aims to change that. Free of charge to the building owner, buildings and homes are treated with our “future blooms” based artwork that transforms wooden boards into trompe l'oeil representations of windows and doors. This simple change allows for communities to imagine the potential in an otherwise abandoned and unappreciated building. Putting colors and designs onto these buildings provides visual interest that reinforces residents' pride in their neighborhood.
"Our statistics show a 17% reduction in blight, a 15% reduction in crime, and a 48% increase in economic development"
This beautification program started in the fall of 2009 and has painted the boards on over 1,200 buildings to date. Our statistics show a 17% reduction in blight, a 15% reduction in crime, and a 48% increase in economic development in the surrounding area where we provide public artworks.
