Dear KCB Friend,
With millions passing through Cincinnati every month, potholes and heavy traffic aren't our only problems.
Would you like to know that your concerns about highway litter are being answered? Are you ready to be a part of the solution?
The
Ohio Department of Transportation and Keep Cincinnati Beautiful have
promised to clean up our city's ten dirtiest entry and exit ramps, but
we need your help!

On-line Poll Selects the 10 Dirtiest Highway Exits in Cincinnati
2010 State Roadway Cleanup Kicks Off this Saturday
Voting
has been completed and the top ten dirtiest highway exits in Cincinnati
have been selected by a recent on-line poll sponsored by Keep
Cincinnati Beautiful and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).
The on-line contest allowed Cincinnatians the chance to select which
highway exits would be cleaned as part of the State Roadway Cleanup
volunteer event this Saturday, March 27th.
Leading
the vote-getters was the Western Hills/Harrison entry ramp on I-75.
Other top candidates in order of popularity include: the 6th Street
entrance to Ezzard Charles on I-75 N, the Freeman exit to 7th Street on
I-75 S, the Central Parkway entrance to I-75 and Exit 2A on I-75 S.

ODOT
crews will take responsibility for the actual cleanup of the Western
Hills/Harrison ramps (Exit 2 and 2B), due to concerns for volunteer
safety at this interchange. The ODOT crews began work there at 12:00 AM
on Wednesday March 24. This Saturday's effort will be directed towards
those other "Top 10 Dirtiest" sites that are considered more
volunteer-friendly.
Keep Cincinnati Beautiful is also pleased to announce that Jake Speed and The Freddies will be performing at the event's pre-rally, scheduled at 8:30am in the parking lot of the Cincinnati Museum Center. The event will also feature an appearance by the Cincinnati Bengals' 2009 first-round draft pick, Andre Smith, as well as City Manager Milton Dohoney and other notable VIPS. A light breakfast will be served to all volunteers and will include raffles of Museum tickets and signed Bengals' merchandise.
Volunteers are still needed for the event. To participate in the Cincinnati area, people can either complete the online volunteer form or simply attend the event on Saturday morning.

Volunteers for the State Roadway Cleanup events in Cincinnati must be
aged 18 or over, as all cleanup locations will be on or near Ohio State
highways. Volunteers will meet in the Union Terminal parking lot,
participate in a state-wide kick-off ceremony, and then be mobilized to
their respective cleanup locations. Carpooling to Union Terminal and to
cleanup locations is highly recommended. All cleanup supplies, as well
as coffee and a light breakfast, will be provided. Volunteers should
dress for weather conditions and outdoor manual labor.
Sincerely,
Linda Holterhoff Executive Director
