ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
RECEIVE 'GREEN' AWARD
Energy
Detectives make an energetic difference
(Cincinnati) May 27, 2009 Please consider this media friendly event for your Thursday coverage. St. Teresa of Avila Elementary students will receive a First Prize award from Keep Cincinnati Beautiful at their campus this Thursday May 28th. These Energy Detectives embarked on a two month campaign to analyze and eventually reduce the use of lighting in the school to conserve energy and natural resources. They left door hangers on classrooms that left leaving the lights on to remind them of the energy they were wasting. All the classrooms got the point at the end of the campaign and also brought their efforts home. Afterward, their school pen pals in Sudbury, Massachusetts got inspired to start an energy conservation project on their own. They want to be Energy Detectives too.
WHO: Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, Rumpke Recycling, St. Teresa of Avila.

WHAT: Energy
Detectives will receive an award for their successful efforts on energy
