Money Available for Community Improvement Projects

(CINCINNATI, OH) January 14th, 2009.  Keep Cincinnati Beautiful is looking to distribute up to $50,000 among City of Cincinnati neighborhoods with ideas to improve safety and livability. Community groups are welcome to apply and the first deadline, February 6th, is approaching rapidly.

The City of Cincinnati’s Safe and Clean Neighborhood Fund is designed to support and encourage community-based efforts to improve safety, eliminate blight and increase livability through problem solving projects. The fund provides financial support for one-time costs (not on-going operating expenses) for initiatives that improve the quality of life within the City’s neighborhoods. Projects must demonstrate measurable outcomes of change in the conditions of safety, cleanliness and livability as a result of having completed the funded program response.

The Safe and Clean Neighborhood Fund will disburse up to $50,000 from the fund each year. The maximum grant amount is $10,000 per project. There is a required match to the grant, and funds are available on a reimbursement basis. Important application criteria are outlined in the application. Applicants are required to meet with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful prior to grant submission to discuss projects.

Completed application must be submitted to Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, 801 Plum Street, Room 16, Cincinnati, OH 45202, and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on or before the due date. Applications received after the deadline will be considered for the following quarter if funds are available.

For further information please refer to the Keep Cincinnati Beautiful website www.KeepCincinnatiBeautiful.org or call 352-4380.
