Clean and Beautiful
United Dairy Farmers has sponsored Keep Cincinnati Beautiful's Clean and Beautiful Awards for over 25 years. In recognition of community improvement, beautification, and recycling activities, awards are granted in five categories:
"Community-Wide Project" – This award is reserved for a large-scale project that incorporates a wide variety of activities and/or the long-term goal to create a clean and safe community. Projects of this size usually leverage the participation of many residents, community groups and businesses in order to be successful.
"Business District/Gateway Project" – This award is for a project that beautifies and improves the business district or community gateway. Because first impressions have a lasting impact on visitors' perceptions of safety and cleanliness, projects in this category help a community put its "best foot forward" to those visiting or passing through the neighborhood.
"Great American Cleanup Project" – This category recognizes creative and innovative projects carried out on the day of the Great American Cleanup. All participants in the Great American Cleanup are welcome to enter their projects. These projects should involve cleaning and beautifying a given area or community, but should also offer year-round results that span a long period of time.
"Green Project" - This category recognizes efforts to create a more sustainable community through projects or events. Any community-based event or project that exemplifies the ideals of environmental sustainability may be entered. Projects on private property will qualify for the award if accomplished by leveraging the support of community groups. Such projects may be entered by private owners, but must be entered on behalf of the supporting community.
"Mini-Grant Award" - For 2011 Fifth-Third Mini-Grant recipients only.
