Fieldtrips
Keep Cincinnati Beautiful offers FREE field trips for both elementary and high school students. Field trips are an excellent way to educate students on waste management and recycling issues.
For elementary students, field trips include a tour of the Rumpke Landfill and a visit to the Burnet Woods Trailside Nature Center, which is part of the Cincinnati Parks Dept.
Students learn so much about the issues of garbage and how it pertains to the environment when they actually see where there garbage goes. The Nature Center offers a hands-on program for students to learn about 'natural recycling' and they get a valuable lesson on the crisis of reduced natural resources.
High school students will tour the Rumpke Landfill, as well, and view the MRF (Material Recovery Facility) in operation. The recycling center gives students valuable information on the natural resources used to create various products as well as knowledge of the recycling process. Teens must wear hard hats and safety glasses in order to get a first hand look at single stream recycling.

All trips are on Wednesdays in the fall and spring and are five hours in length. KCB will provide the bus transportation and all tour arrangements. Trips are for a maximum of 30 students. Contact
