Flower Pots
KCB has teamed up with Benken's Florist & Greenhouse to offer Flower Pot kits to each community consisting of a 27.50 pot, potting soil, a hardy shrub, perennials, and annuals. All plant material will be made available for pick-up at the beginning of that season.
Changeouts will be available at the beginning of each season, and will consist of season-appropriate annuals chosen from a pre-determined plant palette. The initial pot will contain spring annuals and will consist of tall, mounding and trailing plants. Subsequent changeouts will maintain the same structural integrity (tall, mounding, and trailing). Plants likely to include:
Initial:
Hardy Shrub -boxwood or holly
Perennials- lirope, heuchera, myrtle
Annuals- pansies, dusty miller, dianthus, primrose
Subsequent Changeouts:
Hardy Shrub & perennials remain. Annuals are removed and replaced:
Summer: depends on light conditions: begonias, impatiens, peteunias, etc.
Fall: mums, cabbage, kale, dianthus, pansies, dusty miller, etc.
Winter: branches and twigs.
Steps for Flower Pot Placement (Printable Version):

Steps for Flower Pot Placement (Printable Version):
- Identify the spots, take a walk through your community or business district to ID the locations that you would like to place flower pots.
- Walk the area with a representative from Traffic & Engineering (City of Cincinnati) or a similar department within your municipality. They might need to make small changes to the proposed sites. For help within the City of Cincinnati, contact:

352-3456 - Talk to nearby property owners to get permission to place the flower pots around their property. If you would like them to maintain the pots, you will need to get a written statement from them outlining their intention to do so.
- If you are in the City of Cincinnati, apply for a Revocable Street Privilege (RSP see sample letter) through the Department of Transportation & Engineering. You must have permission before you place items such as flower pots.
