Make A Difference Day - the 4th Saturday in October!

Important Links

madd logoMake A Difference Day is one of the nation's largest days of citizen volunteerism - a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.

This fall, approximately 800 volunteers across 40 locations participated (a 67% increase from last year). Residents and corporate groups worked alongside each other to improve their neighborhoods and eliminate blight. Volunteers collected over six tons of litter and brush from 7 illegal dumpsites, 15 parks, and countless other business districts and public greenspace areas. One community even took the time to count the number of cigarette butts they picked up - which was over 1,000!  Additionally, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful planted almost 1,000 daffodil bulbs at the Liberty Garden and along major thoroughfares in Cincinnati. Another 12,000 bulbs will be planted in the coming weeks at our Daffodils & Daylilies highways beds. This effort was made possible thanks to our community groups and sponsors. GLAD donated trash bags and Ricking Paper & Specialty Company donated latex gloves for our volunteers.

Thank you!!!!

If you're interested in organizing a project, start by looking around your community to see what needs to be done. Projects can be large or small. Then, contact Alicia Kravitz or call (513) 352-4386.

KCB also organizes a similar cleanup in the spring called The Great American Cleanup.
