Neighborhood Enhancement Program

The Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) is a collaborative effort between the City of Cincinnati, community residents and local stakeholders. City hot spots are identified through analysis of crime data from the Police Department and Quality of Life indicators (vacant buildings, foreclosures, building code violations, weeds and litter violations and junk autos) from the city.

The partners engage in a comprehensive approach to improving safety, eliminating blight and improving livability within a targeted 90-day period. NEP builds on an integrated service delivery system, utilizing short term/high impact initiatives that are results driven. Community members are engaged to address quality of life issues and are empowered to utilize sustainable strategies for improvement.

KCB also conducts a pre/post Blight Index as a measurement tool for the NEP.
