Daffodils & Daylilies

History
The Daffodils & Daylilies program began as a joint effort with the Cincinnati Park Board to beautify highway greenspace areas and deter litter. We started in 1998 with a pilot beautification project at the Mitchell Avenue exit and entrance ramps. Because we had such success reducing litter as well as a positive response from the community, we decided to take on more projects along the City's highways.
To date, volunteers have planted almost one million daffodils and daylilies and countless other perennials such as white blossom trees, russian sage, and rudbeckia at several highly visible locations.

Maintenance
Unfortunately, in 2011 our partnership with the Park Board was affected by budget cuts to their greenspace program, and they are no longer able to maintain these sites. Since then, we have amped up our fundraising efforts and developed a network of volunteers to help us keep the flower beds looking bright. Several organizations and companies have even adopted individual sites and sent volunteers to weed, mow, and mulch the beds.

Show Your Support
For as little as $25, you can help us plant and maintain up to 100 flower bulbs along the highway. By generously giving to Daffodils & Daylilies, your support will benefit your community by preventing litter and improving economic development. How? Research has proven that individuals are less likely to litter in a clean environment.  Clean and beautified neighborhoods have less crime, increased property values, and visitors are more likely to return to live, work, and invest!

As always, d
onations can always be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and the flowers that bloom year after year serve as a lasting tribute! Contributing to Daffodils & Daylilies is an affordable way to improve your daily commute and your community.
