About Us

"I've long argued that one of our most critical environmental issues is the challenge of making our cities attractive, enriching and safe places to live. The best cure for destructive sprawl is to build cities people don't want to abandon, places where they can live healthy, fulfilling lives in densities that don't devour our landscapes, pave our wilderness and pollute our watersheds, air and wildlife. To achieve this, we need to invest in urban schools, transportation, parks, health care, police protection, and infrastructure that make cities great magnets."
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Keep Cincinnati Beautiful has initiated and implemented many on-going projects that have made a clear difference in the quality of life for Greater Cincinnati.  For example, the Great American Cleanup reaches across the tri-state as part of a national effort to keep America beautiful. Daffodils & Daylilies beautify our highways to reduce litter and to create a visual welcome to Cincinnati that says we care about our city, and our free Environmental Education programs reach over 10,000 students every year. Our other programs include the Neighborhood Enhancement Program (formerly Project 180 Degrees), Littering Is Wrong Too, Future Blooms, and Make A Difference Day. We work on a grassroots level to educate residents and students about the environment in an effort to change behaviors and attitudes.

On more than twenty occasions since 1997, we have been recognized by Keep America Beautiful for outstanding achievements in areas such as Litter Prevention, Education, Beautification, and Innovation.
